West Hants, otherwise known as the West Hants Regional Municipality, is part of Hants County in the Nova Scotia province of Canada. It is bordered by the Municipality of East Hants District on its eastern side, Halifax on its southern boundary line and Chester and Kings County to the northwest.
This area comprises the historic Windsor Community and former Hantsport town which amalgamated with West Hants on July 1st, 2015. The region enjoys an average of 287 days of sunshine per year providing it a wonderful environment for various outdoor activities like hiking, golfing, cycling, skiing or shimming on water bodies.
A favorable climate has made possible a range of agricultural practices such as winemaking and craft brewing alongside the cultivation of giant pumpkins among others including retail landscaping sheep farming plus commercially raised Atlantic salmon among other species kept there. West Hants is also characterized by rolling hills, fertile forests and sparkling water bodies.
