The official name is Saint Andrews, though it is often shortened to St. Andrews. The city was founded by Loyalists in 1783 and has a long history. It has many historic buildings, such as the St. Andrews Blockhouse from the War of 1812. The city also welcomed many Irish immigrants between the 1820s and 1860s.
