In this process, all local police records will be filtered just to see and determine if there’s a time in the past that you have displayed behavior that is not appropriate to vulnerable persons. Who are vulnerable people, by the way?

Take note that proof of residency is required for all applicants of vulnerable background checks. There will also be documents that may be asked to verify your current address. Such documents include the following:

A recent utility, gas, or telephone bill
Bank statement
Property rental agreement
Insurance policy documents
These documents must be dated within the last 90 days to be considered valid.
Once you have your certificate, you will be able to land a job that involves previously mentioned restrictions. In the certificate, you will find the following:
Criminal conviction summary
Findings of guilt under the Youth Criminal Justice Act
Warrants and charges
Pardoned offenses
Other outstanding entries
How to Get a Vulnerable Sector Check Certificate?
Based on your address, go to your regional police station. But before you do, make sure to bring with you at least two valid government IDs. One of which must state your full name and date of birth, while the other needs to have your photo and your signature.
Aside from this, you must bring a Consent to Disclosure form from your employer. Here’s a sample. Print this form on a legal-size paper, and ensure that the form is completely signed by yourself and the agency contact person. In addition, attach the fee to the form.
After these steps, you can now submit everything to the police. Prior to COVID, there is another way to send the requirements. This is through the “dropbox” program of the local police stations.
