Building a career is not as easy as it may seem at first. There are many factors to consider, such as the type of work you intend to have and the location where you want to work. It’s ideal to have a fulfilling job that answers all your questions and gives you a sense of accomplishment. Although Canada is home to several wonderful jobs, some locals still find it more appealing to find jobs outside Canada.

There is a trend wherein newly graduated individuals go out of the country to look for jobs outside Canada. Aside from locals and immigrants, international students seem to follow this trend as well.

You may ask why these people do this and there are many reasons why these individuals take this route:

Loneliness and family disconnect. This is a major reason that hugely affects the decision of the person. Sometimes, they feel like moving out of the country is the best thing to do to save themselves from the sorrow and sadness that their problems bring. Going somewhere far gives them a feeling of freedom that can contribute to their well-being.

Financial difficulties. The world is huge. There are multiple opportunities outside Canada that give individuals more chances to fulfill financial stability and more. It is logical to move abroad if the opportunity is present there.

High real estate prices. Living in Canada is no joke. Bills are forever there. One of the most financially consuming factors is the real estate price. Going to a country with more affordable options relieves this tension.

Weather. Canada is a generally cold country. While some enjoy it, some want the opposite of it; they want to go to far-flung tropical places with the kind of temperature and climate they can only dream of.

High expectations. You wouldn’t know what’s out there if you don’t pursue it. It’s such a normal attitude to dream high and have high expectations.

Regardless of your reason, it is your decision anyway. You might also have received an offer or employment in a different country. Whether or not this is the case, you should know and understand that there are necessary steps to take for you to relocate and start your employment.

Your international employer is more likely to require you to prepare several documents for your visa and jobs outside Canada. The following are just some of these documents:

  • Birth certificate
  • Certificate of origin
  • Certificate of residence
  • Commercial invoice
  • Copy of passport
  • Criminal record check
  • Driver’s license
  • Educational Documents
  • Goods manufacturing practices (GMP)
  • Manufacturer’s declaration
  • Transcripts

However, you have to know that it’s not enough to prepare these documents. These files must be authenticated and legalized for the employer to consider them valid. This process is called an apostille, or attestation in some countries.

Attestation is a three-step process that involves authentication and legalization:
First, you have to make sure that all of your documents are original and are notarized.
After that, The Ministry of Global Affairs must also authenticate these documents.
Lastly, the documents must also be legalized from the embassy of the country you intend to work in.

Completing these steps signals that your documents are now eligible to be used internationally. It can be a tedious task to complete; that’s why Globeia is here to help you out.
